यहि २०६६ चैत्र ७ गते शनिवार अध्क्षय देवमान हिराचनको अध्क्षतामा बसेको गैरआवासीय नेपाली संघ अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय समन्वय परिषदको साइवर बैठकमा नेपाली काङ्ग्रेसका सभापति एवम् पूर्व प्रधानमन्त्रि गिरिजा प्रसाद कोइरालाको निधन भएकोमा उहाँको संझनामा एक मिनट मौन धारण गरियो । साथै वैठकले निम्नअनुसारको शोक प्रस्ताव पारित गरेको छ ।
नेपालको प्रजातान्त्रिक आन्दोलनका शिखर पुरुष, दोश्रो जनआन्दोलनका कमान्डर, नेपाली काङ्ग्रेसका सभापति एवम् पूर्व प्रधानमन्त्रि गिरिजा प्रसाद कोइरालाको देहावसानको समाचारले सम्पुर्ण गैरआवासीय नेपाली समुदायलाई स्तव्ध र अत्यन्त मर्माहत तुल्याएको छ । नेपाल राष्ट्रले एक सच्चा राष्ट्रवादि राजनेता एवम् नेपालको हालको शान्ति प्रकृयाका अभिभावक गुमाएको छ । संपुर्ण राष्ट्रका लागि यो अपुरणनिय क्षति हो । यस दुखद घडिमा यो संघ उहाँको परिवार, नेपाली काङ्ग्रेस र सवै नेपाली जनतामा हार्दिक समवेदना प्रकट गर्दछ । साथै सवैमा धैर्य धारण गर्ने शक्तिको लागि कामना गर्दछ ।

१४ मार्च कुवेत, घरेलु कामदारको रुपमा कार्यरत नेपाली महिलालाई एसियन ड्राइभरले अपहरण गरी कुवेतको जिलिब अल शुयैख स्थित वेश्यावृत्ति गराउने दलाललाई बेचेको रहेछ । पुलिसले नाम र ठेगाना नखुलाएकी यि नेपाली महिला कुवेतको फिर्दोस भन्ने ठाउँमा घरेलु कामदारको रुपमा कार्यरत रहिछन । उनको अपहरण बारे, अर्की नाम नखुलाईएकी महिलाले पुलिसलाई फोन गरी आफ्नो नेपाली साथी ट्याक्सी ड्राइभरको अपहरणमा परेको जानकारी गराएकी थिईन र उनैले दिएको विवरणको आधारमा कुवेत पुलिस जिलिब अल शुयैखमा छापा मारी नेपाली महिलालाई उद्धार गरेको थियो र सोही ठाउँबाट बेश्यावृत्तिमा संलग्न अरु एसियन महिलालाई पनि पुलिसले आफ्नो नियन्त्रणमा लिएको अल राइ पत्रीकालाई जानकारी गराएको छ । त्यस्तै ट्याक्सी ड्राइभरलाई कुवेतको फर्वानिया सेक्युरिटी फोर्सले पक्राउ गरेको जानकारी प्राप्त हुन आएकोछ ।
यि महिलाको बारेमा बिस्तृत जानकारीको लागि हामीले नेपाली दूताबास कुवेतलाई सम्पर्क गर्दा सचिब पुष्पराज भटराई भन्नु हुन्छ ,दूताबासमा अहिलेसम्म कुनै खबर आएको छैन उनी पुलिसको रेख देखमै हुनु पर्छ भनि आशंका व्यक्त गर्नुहुन्छ। निश्चय पनि पुलिसले दूताबासलाई सम्पर्क गर्छ होला भन्नु भयो । कुवेतमा रहेका बुद्धिजिवी भन्छन । उनी ट्याक्सीमा चडेर् कुनै ठाउँमा जान लाग्दा ट्याक्सी वालाले लगेर बेचेको हुन सक्ने आसंका गर्दछन । कुवेतमा कार्यरत नेपाली महिलाहरु एक्लै ट्याक्सीमा सवार नहुन आग्रह गर्छन् । धन्यवाद , कुवैत पुलिसलाई जसले एक नेपाली चेलीको अस्मिता जोगाउन गरेको सहाँसिक कदमलाई स्वागत छ।

NRN Association forms Constitution Suggestion Committee

The Non‐Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), International Coordination Council (ICC) has formed a Committee under the chairmanship of Professor Surya P. Subedi, a distinguished professor of law based in the UK with expertise on international, constitutional and human rights law, to prepare the NRN suggestions for the proposed constitution of Nepal. The committee will collect suggestions from NRNs residing all over the world and draft the collective NRNA recommendation, which will be submitted to the Constituent Assembly in Nepal. The committee has been asked to submit a well thought out and comprehensive set of suggestions representing collective aspirations of the global NRN community to the ICC by 15 March 2009. Other members of the committee are Mr Kul Chandra Gautam, the former UN Assistant Secretary‐General, Mr Naresh Koirala, NRNA Regional Coordinator for North America, Professor Alok Bohara, professor of political science at the University of New Mexico USA, Dr Jugal Bhurtel, the Spokesperson of the NRNA, Mr Dinesh Tripathi, the NRNA’s Legal Advisor as well as the Presidents of the following 45 international chapters of the NRN Association:
